Sunday, June 3rd
The first in our three-meeting cycle, this BVA Basics meeting deals with the BVA's moral position on animals and veganism, looking at what makes animals morally relevant, what we mean by 'animal rights', and so on, promising to elaborate on some concepts in the next meeting.
We'll start the meeting with some brief intros around the room, then spend the bulk of our time on the topic, followed by a discussion and Q&A period.
There are three meetings to try to make it to, total, in any order and at any time you can make them. So, if you missed the last meeting, you can pick up with this one! We hope everyone will partake in these meetings to begin with, even if you are not a newcomer.
Advocacy practice meetings are publicly held monthly meetings for discussing new and interesting readings and sometimes videos relevant to vegan advocacy work, to talk about and practice various advocacy strategies, and to engage in hands-on peer advocacy training. These meetings are open to everyone.
